Units are the virtual currency used on Tunisie Freelance to apply to jobs. They have no cash value outside the platform and are not transferable.
Units are used only on the platform. Freelancers spend units to submit applications (bids) to job postings. You can earn units through rewards and badges, or buy them when you need more.
You can earn free units through onboarding (e.g. signup bonus, completing your profile, adding a portfolio item, linking your DHMAD account); achievements (first job completed, referral milestones); monthly activity (daily login, applying to a job, bidding on an application, fast responder); and application streaks (7-, 15-, or 30-day streaks). Amounts and conditions are shown on the Earn Units page.
Rewards include welcome bonus, profile and portfolio setup, DHMAD link, first job completed, referring freelancers who buy units, daily logins, applying and bidding each month, replying quickly to clients, and consecutive-day application streaks.
When you earn achievement badges (Rising Freelancer, Proven Freelancer, Top Performer, Elite Freelancer) or the Verified Talent badge, you receive bonus units. Badges are based on completed jobs, earnings, and rating. They appear on your profile and give you free units when unlocked.
To apply for a job, you submit an application (your bid) with a cover letter, proposed rate, and delivery time. You can add an optional bid amount in units to stand out; higher bids may appear in the top bidders list for that job.
The base cost per application is calculated dynamically for each job and is shown before you confirm. It depends on the factors listed below. Any extra units you add as a bid are added to that cost.
The base cost in units per application depends on:
You get a full refund of units for an application if the client cancels the job (all applicants are refunded). When a client contacts you by sending their first message in the conversation, you receive a partial refund of units for that application. Withdrawing your own application does not refund units.
